For two days only print maker Carol Wilhide exhibited Impressions. Everyday objects and views – from reflections in water to glimpses from
windows – are explored in this solo exhibition, through
the medium of linocut or woodcut, brief impressions of nature take on
new layers of meaning.
Carol Wilhide is a London-based artist who has exhibited her work in
London, Paris and Tokyo. Her linocut 'Nest' was shown at the Royal
Academy Summer Exhibition 2014. She is a member of the National Society
of Painters, Sculptors and Printmakers and won the Matthew White Ridley
Printmaking Prize at their show at the Menier Gallery, Southwark in
2013. Earlier this year she spent five weeks in Japan on a residency
learning the mokuhanga technique.
